Ein Uzi
A beautiful spring on the south of Jerusalem, on top of the moshav Even Sapir.
It's named after a mysterious Abu Uzi, and it is composed of two springs,
10m aside.
-
The first one is the bigger one, and it's waters fall into a nice pool, about
4x4, 1.6m deep, with 7 stairs. This is the reason why religious freaks (there
is something like that...) come here every friday afternoon for Tvila before
Shabbat.
-
The second one is a smaller spring, but still has a pool. It's water is dirty,
and is not recommended for drinking.
How to get there: From Haddassa Ein Kerem (if you come from Jlem.) continue
driving about 200m, turn left to Even Sapir. On the first house of the Moshav
leave the car, and look for the Shvil Israel Marks leading to the left, top
of the mountain. Climb about 100m - there's the spring.
Please look at the map, and at the picture.
